I got to page 30...... and my whole grade 10 English final was based on it. I couldn't even do the dishonourable thing and watch the movie. I fell asleep at about the same point that I gave up on the book. You can't imagin how happy I was when the essay topic was "Is 1984 a satire". I just blabbed on about why Animal Farm was a satire and 1984 wasn't. I don't even remember what I said, but I got an A. Luck save!
Ever read Cry the Beloved Country? Oh my god, that was almost as bad, although I did actually finish it. I was ready to burn it by the end. I didn't enjoy one little bit of it.
