Back to the LibraryI have to disagree with some of you -- I love Of Mice and Men and liked The Scarlet Letter, too. The author I absolutely hate is Herman Melville! I had to read Billy Bud in high school... it's about 150 pages and took longer for me to read than any other book I can remember! His writing style had me reading the same page about 10 times while my mind wandered to other things. And talk about a depressing book!! I have to tell you, I am going to major in English and have lots of lit classes to take in the next 2.5 years, but I am not going to take one that I would have to read Moby Dick in!!

BTW - I was wondering about that "Everytime," too. If he hated JA so much, why bother? But I thought he was being just a tad bit harsh with the last two.
