Mark Twain makes me...

In response to In fairness to Twain, written by Art on October 01, 1998 at 20:04:24Especially that bit about "Everytime I read P & P..." Why, he gives himself away right there. He keeps picking those books up.
And seriously, Huckleberry Finn is a wonderful, wonderful book. Forgive him his blind spot (which I think of as overcompensation for his secret obsession with Jane Austen) and give him a try.
As for the authors I have trouble with, I have never made it past the first page of The Golden Bowl (Henry James). Edith Wharton gives you the same world only clearly written, so why torture yourself?
