Back to the LibraryCouldn't agree more. I've tried Patrickm White several times, in particular Voss and find him unreadable, yet he's supposed to be one of Oz's great talents. And now, for the big confession - I find The Hobbit and any of Tolkien's works boring, tedious, turgid and predictable (well, I shouldn't say the last, because I have yet to finish one of his books in spite of many attempts). Millions of people world wide find him totally addictive - what's wrong with me?
