] My take on Mrs.Johnson is that of a follower, not a leader. I think she admires Lady Susan and thrives on the LS's unrestrained and selfish ambitions. She wouldn't have the nerve, nor the ability to dupe others.

This discussion brings to mind Emma's Harriet Smith. If Emma were truly evil, as opposed to being merely selfish, spoiled, and childish, it's possible that Harriet, under Emma's influence, would become a Mrs. Johnson.
