] I remember watching the Masterpiece Theater production and being profoundly moved. Then I read the book and was even more moved. What a terrible experience to loose so many in such a short time. If I recall, she wrote the Testament of Youth and then there was another one - the Testament of Rememberance?? I think the second book spoke to her life after the war and ultimate marriage. It sounds as though she never got over the tragedies of WWI.] Does anyone remember the second book?

..itīs interesting how Brittainīs style slightly changes in this book. The heart-wrenching exactness of TOY fades away to give room for more general, wider perspectives: itīs like the exorcistic writing of TOY had done its job for her personally.
