] i'm starting to read the second of a four-book series of what i suppose are "historical romances"; the first one, Outlander, was actually quite impressive. they are the story of a WWII nurse, Claire, who is tossed back to 1743 Scotland and a Scotsman named James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser (!). very good summery reading, if a little gory (battle scenes and such) at times. has anyone else read them?
I've read two of her books, and have started on the third in the series. They are very captivating, once you get past the "fantasy" part of the plot, which I actually accepted a lot easier than I thought I would. My only complaint is that the *ahem* "intimate" scenes are a little more graphic than I would prefer. Many people would probably think me a prude, but I'd just rather not read about that stuff, so I skip over it. Like I said I've started the third book, but I haven't read it for a while as I'm in the middle of school and reading four other books at the same time! So little time, so much to read!! ;-)
