In response to Jane Eyre, written by Emma Elizabeth Anne on September 02, 1998 at 07:00:23
I also agree with Charlotte. Is it better to have the central characters always physically beautiful, or is a story improved when the heroes and heroines are, as Jane Eyre describes herself, "poor, little, obscure and plain"??
Are there any other opinions on the subject? =)
I definitely agree. Some of my favorite books have "regular" people in them -- people I can identify with. One of my favorite lines in a movie is from "Sarah, Plain and Tall" when she tells her future husband she is coming on the train she writes "I will be wearing a yellow hat. I am plain. And tall"
