] I just finished reading The Queen's Man by Sharon Kay Penman and it was excellent. It is a medieval mystery set during the reign of King Richard the Lion Heart. This particular book takes place when he has been kidnapped and his mother, Eleanor of Aquitaine, is ruling for him.
I haven't read this, but I'm interested! I have two of her books on my stack that I want to read ASAP: The Sunne in Splendour, which is to do with King Edward IV and Richard III, and When Christ and His Saints Slept, which I think dates just a bit before the novel you read. I love historical fiction and the medieval on into Tudor times.
