As for the "marriage was ordained..." quotation, it sounds like the Anglican Wedding Service to me. Anyone know for sure? I'll try to do some research.

Well I did a bit of research and came up with this from the Book of Common Prayer (American version 1979):

The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is
intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort
given one another in prosperity and adversity;...

It sounds similar, but I'd be interested to see if anyone has something closer. BTW this is where I found it (if I know how to put in links!), but be warned, it really is the whole prayer book on one page so it takes some time to get!
