something I just finished reading

I just finished reading a novel by Barbara Rogan called A Heartbeat Away. I stumbled across it in the library and chose it because the author credited Jane Austen for inspiration. It's interesting and compelling. The story involves an ER and a 'hood--so sometimes the dialog is strong and the details are a little gory (but not too much gore). But overall, a good story.
From the jacket: "Unforgettable characters are confronted with the boundaries of class and the vagaries of pride and prejudice in the 1990s."
Has anyone else read it?
