] Any theories on what this means? I don’t think LS fears for her own safety from her sister in law. Possibly she fears that CV is "on to her" – understands what she is and what she is up to. She may fear that CV will run her off before she is ready to go. Any ideas?

Also, since LadyS failed to pay her respects upon the Vernon's marriage, maybe she fears that CV will hold that against her.
