The Angelique series your Mother read is in my opinion the best series ever written. I first read Angelique when I was 14 yrs. old. 22 years later I am still rereading this series and loving it. There is good synopsis of the story at this web site, also news about the author who is still alive and trying to get her last 3 books translated from French into English. This series was the top selling series of all time in the 60's. The author became involved in a legal battle with her publisher rather like a David and Goliath leagal war. The publisher has tried to keep the Angelique series from continuing in the U.S. This is why you and your Mother didn't hear anymore about this series.
