] 1) What do you think of Flora's attempted writing in the movie? I don't think her style is in character. I mean, she is neat and admires JA, I don't think her style would be so florid, and metaphorical.

I believe that the JA connection was made up for the movie. I couldn't find a reference to Flora's wanting to be a writer in the book. I agree with Karen R that Flora's writing is supposed to mimic the three-star passages in the book that were intended to make fun of the overblown writing that was considered Literature. Here's one, describing Adam, that sounds exactly like something Flora would have written in the movie. "From the stubborn interwoven strata of his subconscious, thought seeped up into his dim conscious; not as an integral part of that consciousness, but more as an impalpable emanation, a crepuscular addition, from the unsleeping life in the restless trees and fields surrounding him." Isn't it horrible?

] 2) What is the name of the actor that plays Seth? wow!

Rufus Sewell. I've also seen him in Middlemarch and Twenty-One. He was great in both.
