This isn't about Fanny, really...it's about ideas and notions of personal truth for me. To argue over liking or hating Fanny herself is to ignore the fact that _Mansfield Park_ may very well be about something other than traditional morality and the triumph of logical good.
Incidentally, there is a character in the book _Auntie Mame_ called Fanny, oddly enough, who greatly resembles Fanny Price in situation but is miles ahead in personal insight and ability to function under adversity. I was floored!
