Back to the Library ] To all Wuthering Heights haters.... Yes, it is much easier to identify with the characters in P&P but the uncivilized manner of the characters in WH makes for a much more intresting and thought provoking novel.

The differences between WH, and P&P make the novels very hard to compare. Although they have some of the same motivation behind them, (Catherine Earnshaw marries Edgar Linton as opposed to Heathcliff for money, when she describes her soul and Heathcliffs are made of the same stuff).

Personally I prefer WH because it is a deep book, I'm in the process of rereading it, but I had never even thought to compare them before. The different tones make it hard to compare
