I knew there was a reason I liked both writers so much, but I had never seen the connection so clearly.:o)
Just loved your insights to S&S. It actually mirrors the darker side of the Wimseys´ lifehistories better than P&P. I´d love to give a lengthier reply, but I have a few problems just now:
1. I´ve lent away my Sayers-books away to a recently-newborn Sayers-fan. So I can´t quote. And quote we must, as Dorothy herself always did.
2. I´ve just got from the library the new Sayers "Thrones, Dominations" - so I´m tied up into a heavy light reading and drooling ...:-)
3. Since English isn´t my 1st language, writing is slow for me.
I´ll be back soon...I had the same feeling of an unconscious similarity of the writers, but writing it out helped to focus it. Iseem to quote Sayers innocently unaware: A few weeks ago I wrote here about "scholastic mind" and Molly kindly reminded me of the Dean´s words to Harriet...and I hadn´t realized I quoted.:-)
Thank you for you kind words ("no, you´re not kind, you´re being yourself"f:-)
