is a very interesting and original writer, little regarded in the US as far as I can see, and is one whose writing I believe Pemberlonians would be attracted to. She wrote Restoration, which was made into a not particularly good movie, but which was an excellent book. Sacred Country is a superlative book about a trans-sexual growing up in England during the 50s - not a promising sounding subject, to be sure, but it was a very moving and interesting story. I recently finished The Way I Found Her, just published, and again I would recommend it most highly. It baffles me that people are unaware of this great writer and I hope this little post will induce a few of you to discover her unique and original talent.
