_On the Beach_ is my husbands favorite book. Did you know that it was made into a movie in 1959? It was produced and directed by Stanley Kramer. Starring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire, and Anthony Perkins. It is a remarkable film which still holds up today. I'm sure you can find it for rent at your local video store. And can be purchased as we did. I urge you to rent it.
