] I am trying to put a list together for the recommended reading board of all the fiction we know of which alludes to or quotes from JA.] Any others?
I would think that every Barbara Pym novel contains some mention of a Jane Austen book, not to mention that her whole style was an homage to JA. JA is definitely mentioned in Pym's "Jane and Prudence." Prudence's last name is Bates, and sometimes she's irritated that her co-workers call her "Miss Bates" because of that character in Emma.
