Back to the Library Edmund Crispin's mystery The Moving Toyshop Two of the characters play "Detestable Characters of Fiction" in a pub, and one chooses "Those vulgar little man-hunting minxes in Pride & Prejudice" which rouses the ire of a nearby drinker in the chapter "The Episode of the Indignant Janeite." Then the Janeite must be kept occupied with a discussion of JA.

Douglas Adams' Starship Titanic by Terry Jones has a JA reference but I've forgotten what it was mostly because I tried to forget the book which was pretty disappointing.

Constanza beat me to the Emily Eden reference!
