] Not exactly an allusion or quote, but detective Cordelia Grey of PD James's "An Unsuitable Job for a Woman" is an Austen fan. Incidentally, I think she (PD James) is interviewed in "The Making of..." tape or Myretta's P&P2 guide for teachers.]
She's interviewed in the Making of tape (sort of as a JA substitute, I think) about how it feels to have one's novel translated into a visual meduim.
Elizabeth George, who also writes mysteries (which are very good) has one of her characters going on a picnic with an amoure to Box Hill... one of the others comments "are you going out with a Janeite?".
