I meant the comparison in that one tiny, narrow respect, that miserliness can become a way of life (not even always the same way of life.) Maybe I should have used Scrouge. No, don't tell me -- you're a Scrouge apologist too. ["Drag out the Dickens."] Or old Mrs Clennam.

Nope -- I don't have many tender feelings toward the pre-reformation Scrooge, or toward Mrs. Clennam, so you're safe there ;-)
