Back to the Library ] Jane Austen's World; The Life and Times of England's Most Popular Author by Maggie Lane. I couldn't find in the L& T links either. It is listed under "suggestions".


If you are talking about the one by Maggie Lane (and there are some similar-sounding ones by other authors) then it's a good all-round description of her times- lots of pictures, very little padding in the text, easy to read. I don't have a copy, but I've often considered buying it, as I think it's good value for money.
