Back to the Library... you might like to read "Travesties" by Tom Stoppard... which uses the structure of The Importance of Being Earnest to imagine a meeting between James Joyce, Tristan Tzara, Lenin, and a scion of the Empire whose name I have forgotten at the moment, in the improbable, fictionalized story of a production of "TIOBE" in Zurich in the middle of the First World War (even more improbably, Joyce and the scion of the Empire really were involved in such a production in real life, which ended with Joyce being sued over a pair of trousers...)

It's a really funny play, and I think Wilde would approve of the use of comedy to discuss serious issues such as the relative merits of art and socialism...
