] I think that Henry tried to change because of his love for Fanny, but he was basically an immoral and flawed character and could not. Darcy changed his behavior, not his character, for love of Lizzy. What Lizzy said of Darcy can also be applied to Henry:
] "Oh, no! In essentials, I believe, he is very much what he ever was."
