Back to the LibraryThere are certainly plenty of "Wildeisms"!

Among my favourites:

"I hope I am not that" (that meaning "perfect") "It would leave no room for developments".

"if the lower orders don't set us a good example, what on earth is the use of them?"

"It isn't easy to be anything nowadays. There's such a lot of beastly competition about"

And I love the way they talk absolute nonsense with the utmost sang froid. Such as:
"To loose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness".

"In any case, she is a monster, without being a myth, whyich is reather unfair".

"The old fashioned regard for the young is fast dying out".

I will stop here; were I to quote all of my favourte parts I would end up by transcribing most of play. ;-)
