Back to the Library ] Has there been a discussion of "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaarder?

] If not, may I kick off by saying it's a good read, and the best introduction to philosophy I've ever come across: the idea of explaining the history of western philosophy to a couple of bright fifteen year olds is an excellent device.

A fascinating book! I myself am 15, (although the characters are act. fourteen), and thought it was great because it made these complex philsophies easy to understand. The book-within-a-book plot was a little confusing and the ending was strange, but it was very enjoyable.
