The scene in L&F where all the grandchildren reappear on cue is very funny - you could imagine this in a slapstick comedy skit.
I also enjoyed Laura's account of how they disapproved of Janetta's proposed husband, Graham (sensible, well informed and agreeable) because he "had no soul, had never read the sorrows of Werter and his Hair bore not the slightest resemblance to Auburn"! and quickly discovered an alternative claimant to her hand, who was far more romantic.
It's easy to see where Marianne came from!
