readings coming up...

We have one more week of Cold Comfort Farm and we will then be reading some JA juvenilia for three weeks.
After than I thought something completely different might be in order, and I was thinking about some Latin American fiction.
The two I'm trying to choose between are Laura Esquivel's "Like Water for Chocolate" and Isabelle Allende's "House of the Spirits". It's ages since I've read either and I'm worried that the Allende might be a bit long. I'd appreciate your views.
Just to remind you of our "choosing reads" policy, I've linked it below. I don't want you to think this is a totally arbitrary process!
