] And there are quite a number of them: the name of Judith's sons and husband, the fact that one of her sons is highly sexed, that Elfine writes poetry, that Mr. Mybug will fall in love with her. Can anyone thing of any others?
I'm not sure if Seth really is highly sexed, or if he just has the reputation. He is supposed to go "a-mollocking" in town, when he in fact goes to the movies. And, at one point, he talks with disdain about women:
'But I though you liked having girls after you?'
'Nay, I only likes the talkies. I don't mind takin' a girl out if she will let me, but many's the girl I've niver seen again because she worried me in the middle of a talkie. Aye, they're all the same. They must have yer blood and yer breath and ivery bit of yer time and yer thoughts. But I'm not lie that. I just likes the talkies.'
And he looks forward to going to the Hawk-Monitor party because he thinks the girls won't bother him!
I think his family mistakenly thinks he's a real womanizer. I wonder if Seth or somebody else really is the father of Meriam's four future jazz-band members.
