I think I've finally come to understand I don't really like Fanny Price and why I sometimes agree with Aunt Norris' assement of her charms I won't make simplistic statement like she boring and helpless, I wouldn't have read the book for a third time I was going to do that. I think the probelm is that as JA describes Fanny she's weak, physically, intellectually, emotionally, but not morally. She always having headaches or coming because she's tired. I'm come to feel that Fanny is carrying a good load of suppresses rage at the family for not treating her well, at Edmund for not being able to see her when the dazzler, Mary Carwford is around, at herself for not having the assurance (sp?) to take an action. All-in-all this makes her more of a Jane Eyre character than I have suspected before but without the courage to risk all to act on her feelings. After reading of Charlotte Bronte's dislike of JA, I wonder if she doesn't owe her just the tiniest of salutes.
