Mother Judith

I have noticed "Cousin Judith" has an interesting fascination, for lack of a better word, in her son, Seth. For instance, she calls him "the shame of our house" while sitting in her room with "Two hundred photographs of Seth" as decorations. Could it be a reverse oedipal complex? Or is my mind just wandering where it shouldn't? But who knows at Cold Comfort? Could this be one of the mysteries for Flora to solve?
BTW, I am loving this book---it is hilarious!
