CCF and Josephine Tey and parody

Re the discussion further down about the genre of agricultural literature being sent up.
Josephine Tey's To love and be wise also sends this up, in the person of an obnoxious author of such novels. She makes some pretty scathing remarks about his books and their plots, which are very funny. However, this book was published a good while later than CCF, in 1950.
