Gloom and Doom names

] One reason I enjoy reading the book is Gibbons' use of picturesque names.
I love them! The cows named Pointless, Feckless, Aimless and Graceless (and what happened to her leg anyway?!); the plow team of Travail and Arsenic; the gelding Viper-- I mean, they haven't got a chance with names like those!
