My idea of hell...

I am finding a lot of the lines in this book to be LOL funny.
Two favourites so far are:
"My idea of hell is a very large party in a very cold room where everyone has to play hockey properly."
and
"...Flora, who as we know, loathed parties, dined quietly with intelligent men: a way of passing the evening which she adored, because then she could show-off a lot and talk about herself."
