In response to I really liked this too., written by Kate on April 18, 1998 at 14:36:04
Ann, bless her heart, who knows of my Kenneth addiction, lent me her copy last year and I enjoyed it very much.
It really bogged down when he was trying to get the Renaissance Company off the ground. Way too much of meeting with this person, talking with that one, yada, yada, yada... Starting a theater company should be exciting, but he sounded as if he were trying to be sure and acknowledge every single person involved, greasing palms as it were, and I can see his motive, the company was still on very shaky ground financially and a mention in the book might bring on another contribution, but the narrative really came to a dead halt for me.
Thankfully it ended with that wonderful behind the scenes Henry V stuff! Can't believe they shot the battle of Angincourt on a soundstage! All that rain and mud!
(It's on top of my pile Kate! ;-)
