I agree, Barbara. It really gives one pause to wonder why Cassandra felt obliged to edit/destroy JA's letters and even more so, why, Fanny felt it necessary to destroy JA's letters to Frank some fifty years later. Sigh. JA will remain an enigma. Double sigh.......or in retrospect, maybe that's not all bad; It keeps me coming back!
