Which is why I love Cyndie for her passionate assertion of JA's right to be known as she wished herself to be, not speculated upon for vulgar profit. It's a totally useless and hopeless position, of course, but why
should the windmills always win?I'm a little confused by your post, Valerie. Are you advocating that we do read and discuss biography or that we avoid such discussion?
We did not ask that Cyndie refrain from discussing the book with us as we read it. We only asked (perhaps more acerbically than strictly necessary), that she not enter the conversation with a wholesale condemnation of the book until we reach the end of the discussion.
If you believe it is violation of a person's desire for privacy to read biography, perhaps you this particular group read is not for you .
