In response to Northanger Abbey, written by E on March 28, 1998 at 11:42:21
I found this halfway through Ch.14, thanks to the e-text version of Northanger Abbey linked from the Jane Austen Information Page, which can be linked from the main Pemberley map:
"Where people wish to attach, they should always be ignorant. To come with a well-informed mind is to come with an inability of administering to the vanity of others,
which a sensible person would always wish to avoid.
A woman especially, if she have the misfortune
of knowing anything, should conceal it as well as she can."
BTW, this is a funny remark, but I don't advise taking it too much to heart! ;o)
