] This discussion of Jane's personality is really interesting. I agree with your conclusion that Jane may have been very similar to Mr. Darcy (aloof due to shyness) and therefore hard to get to know.
I'd better point out that the INTJ's aloofness is not a result of being shy, but a result of the fact that their behaviour is directed very much by their inner self, rather than people or events around them.They can be shy too, of course, and I am sure , in my heart, that this is one of Darcy's problems, and probably one of JA's too.
Your other comments are interesting, and have got me thinking. :-) I'll try and give a sensible answer to them later....
