] We are in our fourth week of the Tomalin biography group read, and I have been enjoying it very much. This week it seems as if people are coming out of the woodwork to tell me that I shouldn't be enjoying it.
Yeah.We do a group read as a read .Because we enjoy reading, and because it's nice to do it together.And to learn a bit along the way.
I spend my working life evaluating and critcisng the written word.If I wanted to have someone tell me what to think, I'd go to Austen-L. I come to Pemberley to be with my friends, whose opinion I value, and who I know will respect my own opinion as as valid as their own.
How come we can read a novel together and not get all uptight about this kind of thing?
