I'm glad this subject is addressed, as I have recently noticed a number of similarly unwelcoming post to newbies. I must say I feel very uncomfortable about the tone used, and had I had that kind of a response when I first arrived and muddled my way through a RoP that was far less complex than it is now, I would have hesitated to come back too.
So please, feel free to post your remarks, and in order to avoid more misunderstandings, I encourage you to have a look at the FAQ, which are very informative and will give you a good feel as to what is exactly this wonderful website, and how people live in it. Welcome!
