If you had taken time to get to know this site and this board, you would know that we are reading to a schedule which is posted at the top of the board under the cryptic title of "reading schedule."

If you had continued to read the posts, you would have seen that we feel able to differentiate between fact and opinon.

I think that your assumption that Jane Austen would be mortified at Claire Tomalin's interpretation of her flirtation with Tom Lefroy is no different in character from her interpretation of sexual vulnerability.

We are not all dunderheads taking every word at face value as you seem to imply. Please do not feel obliged to save us from ourselves.
