When Lydia comes back to Longbourne, married, Lizzy is beginning to realise that Darcy would have been just right for herself, if only she hadn't been so blind. So when Lydia carelessly offers to find husbands for all her sisters,Lizzy gives a rather sharp reply. I have always interpreted this as Lizzy showing a bit of envy of Lydia having got what they all really want, as well as disgust at the manner in which it was carried out.But that is the only occasion where there is any justification for Tomalin's statement, I think.
