Three books.... how AMAZING!

Although I think I knew this before, I have been forcefully reminded of what an astonishingly intelligent woman JA must have been to write these three books before the age of...what? 23?

Most of us are barely beginning to understand the world outside our own adolescent self-absorbtion at that age, and JA, by contrast, had seen, heard, thought and read enough to be able to create Lizzy Bennet, Elinor, Marianne, Mr Collins, Lady Catherine, Charlotte, Mrs Jennings, Lydia, Wickham, Willoughby, Henry Tilney, Isabella, John Thorpe.... etc etc etc

And to right three novels, two of which are very long. She must have been a fast (and committed) writer, and jealous of her time... which makes her ceasing to write on the upheaval of Bath more understandable too.
