Now I really have to try and track it down!
Actually, what appeals to me in the French is the pace, which really gallops, the wit, which is really ironic,(and the better you know the story , of course, the more you see it) and the fact that it leaves much to the imagination!
I can just imagine Jane giving Eliza an intense grilling on every chapter!
And it's way closer to JA than other 19th cent. French stuff!
