I am also fascinated by Eliza. Is there a biography on her alone? There ought to be. I was upset to read that her first husband met with Madame Guillotine. When I was reading about her marriage to him and that he was an aristocrat I thought, "Oh, no!" and sure enough, a couple of chapters or so later, there it is. I think I was more upset, a reader of a book,two hundred years later, than Eliza was at the time! But beheadings always unsettle me.
She certainly was an interesting person; someone you admire inspite of yourself. Henry must have been quite a Henry to know how to handle her.
