A little confused...

In response to there is a book..., written by P. Bingham on March 17, 1998 at 13:30:03

It covers in great detail the process of writing and selling a book by women during this period.

The impression I got was that Rev. Austen did not even indicate who the author was- nor did he indicate the sex of the author. Therefore, the fact that the book was by a woman should not have been a factor in getting a publisher.

Not that I am not interested in the information you describe- I think it would probably be fascinating- but I don't see how it applies in this instance.
