when you dance as part of a group, you are highly aware of yourself as both part of this mass and as an idividual envolved in her own motion as well. People have forgotten the feeling of strenght and grace involved in moving rhythmically and how doing this can take you out of yourself.

But I think you can get this in contemporary dancing contexts too: there's nothing quite so "out of yourself" as dancing on a noisy crowded dance floor with lots of others all absorbed in the music.
